Lisa Olivia Munn grew up in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid is of Chinese origin and grew up in Vietnam. The father of her Winston Barrett Munn is from an American family that has strong roots in the South of America. Olivia was two years old when her parents divorced. Her current family is run by her mother and stepfather. He's a United States Air Force soldier. The majority of her childhood was spent in Tokyo, Japan, even though the family moved around frequently. The actress was a part of local theater productions throughout this time and became a fashion model for the Japanese industry. After the family returned back to the United States, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. After playing a couple of parts and a few small roles, her career took off on a very promising turn when she was offered the character as Mily Acuna in Hawaii's lensed TV series Beyond the Break (2006) and also the role of Rob Schneider's receptionist in Big Stan (2007). She hosts podcasts "Formula D", "The Daily Nut" as well as "The Daily Nut". Her love of surfing has been evident following the television series Beyond the Break. Additionally, she holds an unofficial black belt in Taekwondo. The woman she married was her mother when she was just two years old, to an Air Force officer. They have relocated several times, but she lived the majority of her life in Tokyo Japan because that is the place where her father worked. She studied journalism at the University of Oklahoma and also majored in Japanese, dramatic arts and acting.
